| J'ai commandé aujourd'hui un nouveau forfait wanadoo pro.
Je vais donc passer le serveur de Team Speak sur du 1024 / 256, au lieu de 512 / 128 aujourd'hui.
A priori, cela devrait être effectif d'içi 5 jours. Donc comptez vers la fin de la semaine prochaine.
Mais dès que je reçois le mail de confirmation, je vous le signalerais.

| surtout cool pour toi tu imagine tu vas avoir un ping entre 30 et 40 a peu pres (sur Halo )

Le serveur Team Speak est hébergé sur mon PC au bureau.
Ce qui me permet de ne aps bouffer ma connexion à la maison, car jouer en même temps que l'hébergement du serveur, même en 1024/256 (j'ai 128 chez ouam), me pénaliserai et ne m'offrirai pas un ping de 30!!!!
Mais c'est vrai que si tu prend l'offre complète de wanadoo pro 1024/256 plus l'option "joueurs", qui améliore les pings, tu peux tomber sous les 30 de ping pour la modique somme de 75€/mois. (mais tarifs baissent en juin...)

this FAQ is still valid, but not up to date: We have the speex codecs avaliable too now ! The bandwidth (and therefore quality) is highly adjustable with the speex codec - meaning you can choose your optimal setting in much finer steps now. The bandwidth usage goes from 3.4 KBit up to 25.9 KBit, and this quite smoothly.
Quality:
the following is of course subjective, its my opinion.
Speex25.9 > Speex19.5 > Speex16.3 > Speex12.3 > GSM16.4 = GSM14.8 > Speex9.3 > Speex7.2 > WinCELP5.2 > Speex5.2 > CELP6.3 = CELP5.1 > Speex3.4
Recommendation of usage:
DSL/cabel and better:
for talking Speex 16.3 is easily good enough, if you want to transmit music, go Speex 25.9
ISDN
Speex 12.3 sounds alright, limit your download to 14 KBit/s if you want to game. Speex16.3 with download limit on 17 might also be OK.
Modem
Speex 9.3 is still quite good quality. Limit your download to 10 KBit. Note that if you want to game its way to high a setting, go as low as you can bare (Speex 5.2, or even Speex 3.4, limit your download to 6 respectivly 4).
Note: Since codecs are a channel-wide thing, its always a weekest-link decision - the guy with the slowest connection decides on how low you have to set the codec.
Note: I hear the latency of the speex codecs TeamSpeak uses is very low. It uses 10 packets/seconds, but I was told that 20 packets/sec wont be handled by most soundcards anyway.
Conclusion: After close examination of the properties of all codecs teamspeak offers, it seems to me the speex codecs win. They offer superior quality at equal bitrates, low latency and a wide range of bitrates to choose from.

| J'ai parfois du mal à me connecter au serveur.
C'est quoi l'IP (pour vérifier), il n'y aurait pas un truc à faire d'abord ou une astuce que je ne connais pas?
